Mad Magazine could quite possibly be the most well known comedy magazine in the world. Its way of taking what’s on our minds in the political and entertainment world as well as just everyday life and putting its trademark twisted viewpoint on it is always hilarious. Comics, parodies, gut splitting artwork and who can forget the ever classic “spy vs. spy” comics that will have you in stitches for hours. Published since 1952, Mad Magazine has been read by both the young as well as the young at heart with great glee. Some of the recurring sections include the popular “fold-ins” which are a parody of Playboy magazine’s “fold-outs” where a question is posed and by folding the outer fourths of the page together, the answer is given in a comical and surprising answer in both picture and words. Also very well known are the movie and TV parodies in which you can see light hearted fun poked at all of your favorite actors and actresses in a typically five page or more series of illustrated cartoons. Even the most serious of people can subscribe to Mad magazine and find something to laugh about, it’s just THAT funny! |
